It was only on some special occasions that we looked for extraordinary outfits to put on, occasions like Christmas parties, Thanksgiving, Graduations, and probably Halloween. But that was back in the day! Now there are parties and occasions all around.
Now there are dinner parties, college parties, birthday parties, pool parties, house and BBQ parties, and many more. Now we have every reason to party, we want to have drink ups, dance with friends. We just need a reason to dress up and look good.
And you know that an outfit should suit the type of party, that is where the whole preparation towards and for the party gets tough. What hairstyle? What dress? What necklace? What earrings? What shoes? And the what and what goes on and on.
I have been caught up in situations where I get frustrated about what to wear, and I know I’m not the only one in this. Have you been in similar situations?
In this post, I have a clear-cut on this. Have you received an invite to a party? Thinking of what to put on from hair to shoe? If you are not sure of what outfit to put on, or you are specifically looking for party outfit ideas, then you are at the right place.
The days of frustration are over! Now you can rock that party or occasion with all eyes on you. Read on.
Dinner Party
Dinner parties are mostly in the evenings but on a few occasions in the late afternoons. Dinner party outfit should be something casual but deluxe. The dress you choose should be kind of low-key and elusive. It shouldn’t be flashy like a club dress.
If the dinner party is in the evening, you can consider a long but elegant polyester attire, soft and smooth. It could have a plunge neck with a spaghetti strap and a side slit.
But on the other hand, if it is in the late afternoons or early evenings, you will want to look more simple but classy. You could consider an off-shoulder styled dress, with short sleeves, with the front to the knee length and the back extending a little more from the knee.
Talking of hairstyle for a dinner party, you could try some curly up-do. Curly up-do is simple and will make you look cute and like a princess. With dinner parties, you could also consider a loose bun, it reveals your makeup, and it’s also easy on the head. It makes you free. With the dinner dresses mentioned earlier on, short faux locs crochet hair is not a bad idea. That is if you are considering dreads.
Mostly, gold and diamond necklaces and earrings are considered, but you can also play around with a choker necklace made with royal pearls with a glass sapphire either gold, blue or green in the middle. Put on some diamond chic triple necklace which usually comes with its earrings and it looks perfect for a dinner party. Long bling tassel earrings are one you can also opt for. What of a dangling drop Champagne Diamond Golden earrings? Yeah, you can put on that for a dinner party.
Do you need a wristwatch and a handbag for the dinner? Well, it depends. But you want to consider which ones fit for a dinner party. Analog and digital watches are good for a dinner party but have to fit your outfit. With a wristwatch, bracelet watches will look cute and amazing. Also a wristwatch with a leather band; either brown or black will look good. You might be asking for silver or gold stainless steel bands, yeah they are also cool. The watch shouldn’t be very much colorful and shouldn’t be large too.
I recommend a purse-handbag for you. There is a clutch purse with cross-body shoulder hands. It is a shoulder bag and a purse at the same time. They come in different shapes and colors. The color you choose will matter, the shape wouldn’t really matter. Remember you don’t want to look identifiable.
Now let me give you an idea on shoes for your dinner party. Heels! Heels! Of course, there is no specific height. The height of the heel depends on you. Remember you don’t want to feel nervous. The heel can be pump heeled or block heeled. Give attention to the color, black is good for all. You can consider white, red, and nude colors. Remember you don’t want to look shiny and become easy to identify at the dinner.
Now ready for your dinner party.
Birthday Party
Most times birthday parties have a motif, and so it is the easiest to dress up for. You only have to watch out because you don’t want to steal the moment or have more attention since it’s not your birthday. A high waist ripped jeans and crop or a crop top and sequin skirt, skinny fit trouser and, a wide leg palazzo lounge pants and a cami tank top or a cold shoulder short sleeve top, a v-neck ruffle sleeve pencil dress are all fascinating selections.
At a birthday party, you would want to have braids as the hairstyle, you can leave the braids on you or tie them up to look cute. You can make french loop braids with your hair, a short wavy hair is a good choice.
You can put on a gold pendant necklace and flat back earrings since a long earring might poke you while dancing. Get a little tight leather band wristwatch since a loosed one will be destructive. You can wear heels, not too shiny in color or you can put on sneakers to much the ones with jeans.
Christmas Party
Christmas is some couple of weeks on and I’m sure you’ve already penned down some obscure parties you might be attending. Christmas is that time of the year where you want to let go of all the stress of the year and go party all day long. So look your best, go out there and undo all the stress. What to wear? Try some short sleeve midi flared dress or a long sleeve mini tunic dress. You can also try short sleeve long leg jumpsuit, get a cute purse handbag, a Japanese or crystal quartz wristwatch, heel, and gold or silver necklace and earrings, and have an amazing look. The reason for this recommendation is that, with Christmas parties, you want to be free likes flying birds and so you don’t need any tight dress.
Cocktail Party
The criterion for a cocktail party has always been a formal style, more like a business party with a little difference. And so you are expected to be in a formal yet celebratory outfit. At cocktail parties, you might meet people you are very formal with, like your boss or even your pastor. You do not want them to see you in just any attire. Remember there is only a tiny difference between being stylish and being chintzy, so be mindful. A V-neck ruffle sleeves pencil slit dress is very formal and fit for a cocktail party. Also, an A-line dress will be amazing. You could also consider a boatneck sleeveless swing vintage dress.
This occasion goes with none other shoes than heels. Yes, you can put on a wristwatch or a bracelet. Wear a themed necklace and earring and get a clutch purse. You are set, walking to the party is elegance and style.
Now lets look at the last party outfit on our list; Bachelorette Party.
Bachelorette Party
Bachelorette parties mostly have a flow. Why were you invited? Let me assume; because you are one of the bride’s friends, this part of the circle of friends of the bride. Then you should go with the flow. Just make sure you don’t take the attention and atmosphere from the bride-to-be.
A jumpsuit, a lace dress, put on that palazzo lounge pants with a cute top. Your dress should be casual and fun even seemly.
Wear an elevated shoe; either pump, block or wedge.
Get a simple silver or gold necklace and designer earrings. Get a simple clutch handbag and go swinging in an elevated shoe, and oh, a bracelet wristwatch will do. Put on your best attitude and make memories. Don’t steal the show from the bride-to-be.
Looking your best is all it takes to be at a party and even enjoying it. Do well to look your best
